Just in time.
Jaja Santiago ‘flew’ from Laguna to Pasig in time to help NU book a ticket to the finals of the 13th Shakey’s V-League Collegiate Conference after beating UP in 4 sets Wednesday at the Philsports Arena.
Santiago led all scorers with a 25-point output she highlighted with 19 hits, 4 blocks and 2 aces, completing a hectic day when she also played for Foton Pilipinas in the Asian Women’s Club Championship.
The Lady Maroons took the first set but once Santiago and the Lady Bulldogs got going, the Diliman squad had no consistent answer in NU’s 21-25, 25-10, 27-25, 25-21 triumph in Game 2.
Jorelle Singh had 16 points off 12 hits and 4 aces while Aiko Urdas contributed 14 markers for the Lady Bulldogs, who await the winner of the Ateneo-FEU semifinal pairing.
Nicole Tiamzon and Tots Carlos each had 14 points for UP while Isa Molde posted 11.
