Jho Maraguinot is tired of watching from the sidelines as Ateneo continues its impressive run in the 13th Shakey’s V-League Collegiate Conference.
As a matter of fact, if the Lady Eagles make it to the championship round, expect the Batangas native to go all-out in trying to see action on the court.
“As much as possible, gagawan ko siya ng paraan if ever makapasok ng Finals,” said Maraguinot after Ateneo shocked FEU in Game 1 of the semis. “I wanna play in the Finals.”
The open spiker is recovering from a stress fracture in her left leg and was in playing uniform when they faced San Sebastian in a knockout match for a Final Four seat last Saturday.
Maraguinot said she has already been cleared, but was advised by the doctors to take it easy and only do light drills during training.
“Minimal movements lang din kasi sobrang alalay pa,” she said.
And while she isn’t 100% yet, Maraguinot couldn’t help herself from trying to convince coach Tai Bundit to send her in against the Lady Tamaraws.
— By John Chester Fajardo
