Cignal shows no signal again after getting routed by Petron

Petron rolled to its third straight victory after racing past erratic Cignal in the PSL All-Filipino Conference Tuesday night at the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay City.

Ces Molina and Aiza Maizo-Pontillas scored 11 points apiece for the Tri-Activ Spikers, who took advantage of the HD Spikers’ 30 unforced errors to coast to the 25-14, 25-23, 27-25 triumph.

Seven other Petron spikers entered the scoring list for the defending champions, who grabbed the solo league lead with a 3-0 record.

Mela Tunay and Cherry Mae Vivas led Cignal with 6 markers each, but the HD Spikers stumbled to their third consecutive loss after yet another lackluster effort.

Cignal connected on just 19.1% of their attacks, with their spikers not surnamed Tunay and Vivas making just 15 of their 92 attempts. — By Joyce Palad
