After winning her third straight MVP award, Alyssa Valdez has one up on rumored flame Kiefer Ravena.
For the two-time men’s basketball MVP, though, it doesn’t really matter.
All he can say is he’s happy for her and he wishes her well come Game 2 of the women’s volleyball finals on Wednesday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
“Congrats to her on winning her third straight, but I know winning the game and the championship will mean a lot more for her,” Ravena told FOX Sports Monday night.
“Sobrang competitive kasi ni Alyssa. We were joking around about the end of my season na naka-back-to-back din ako. Sinabi niya sa sarili niya na gagawin niyang challenge yun for her last year,” he added. “Nakita niya din na medyo kailangan niya mag-perform like an MVP lalo na sa taas ng level ng competition sa UAAP ngayon.”
Perform like an MVP was what Valdez exactly did throughout the season, as she led the UAAP in points and service aces after the elimination round.
And now that Valdez and the Lady Eagles’ backs are against the wall after being down 0-1 in the finals, Ravena, who won two championships in UAAP basketball, has a piece of advice for the Batangas native.
“Just play her best,” he said. “Personally, na -appreciate ko na yung service na nagawa niya for the school and the entire volleyball program and I guess a lot of people would agree. Yun na lang magagawa mo sa mga games na ganyan. Bigay mo na talaga yung lahat.”
