Those were UP captain Kathy Bersola’s words when asked whether she and her competitive fire would return for her final year with the Lady Maroons in Season 79.
This year, Bersola came back from an ACL tear she suffered midway through Season 77 and helped lead UP to its first Final Four appearance in 12 years.
However, the Lady Maroons were easily booted out by Ateneo Saturday, prompting Bersola to admit she wasn’t in peak form when they squared off.
“Aminado akong hindi ako 100% ngayon,” revealed the Sports Science major.
Bersola, though, was still proud on what UP has achieved this season after years of futility.
“Grateful kami na we’ve gotten this far, lalo na kaming mga seniors, long overdue na,” she said. “May mga team kaming natalo na hindi pa namin natalo before, may mga super good games, super bad games. Sobrang dami naming natutunan throughout the season.”
But come next season, Bersola wants the team to use their current standing as an inspiration to do greater things.
