Ex-La Salle star Aby Marano to Lady Spikers: Tibayan nila yung puso nila

Asensio and Niguez focus on Spain after Real Madrid and Atletico’s CL exits

Former UAAP MVP and La Salle star Aby Marano hopes the Lady Spikers would come together as a team in their do-or-die tiff against FEU on Wednesday.

After seeing her alma mater fall to a determined Lady Tamaraws side Sunday, the 3-time UAAP champion said the Taft squad’s mood suddenly changed when their foes mounted a comeback late in the third set.

“Nung first 2 sets, ganado sila e.

Parang may nagsa-stop.

As the Lady Tamaraws found their groove, the Lady Spikers were shut down and lost their momentum until the end of the match.

Although 5 La Salle players ended the game with double-digit scoring, the Lady Spikers were unable to handle FEU’s 3-pronged attack featuring Remy Palma, Bernadeth Pons and Toni Rose Basas in the end game.

“Kasi volleyball is parang psychological lang minsan e.

Napunta sa FEU yung momentum,” she added.

As the Lady Spikers lost their hard-earned twice-to-beat advantage, the wards of coach Ramil de Jesus will be hard-pressed to beat FEU in Game 2.

Marano said the key is to work as a team, focus on their goal and never waver even when their opponents are making a run.

In order for them to reach that, they need to be geared up on their game against FEU on Wednesday,” she closed. — By Joyce Palad
