Maddie Madayag to undergo knee surgery after Holy Week

Ateneo’s worst fears have been confirmed as Maddie Madayag suffered an ACL tear during training.

With the development, the Lady Eagles would miss the sophomore middle blocker for an extended period of time, likely missing the rest of the UAAP Season 78 women’s volleyball tournament as the Katipunan belles attempt a 3-peat.

Team manager Tony Liao said Madayag will undergo surgery after Holy Week, after which the Davao native will then go through therapy.

Ateneo next tackles UST on Saturday, with the Lady Eagles expected to see more action from senior Amy Ahomiro, who was limited when they faced FEU over the weekend. — By Mac Dionisio
