Former setter May Macatuno says Adamson’s woes due to inexperience

With Adamson bidding coach Sherwin Meneses goodbye, ex-Lady Falcons setter May Macatuno has one advice for the team, some members of which are her former teammates.

“Motivate lang nila yung sarili nila,” she said after seeing the San Marcelino belles fall to UP Saturday at the FilOil Flying V Center.

Yung mga ginagawa nila sa training ilabas nila,” Macatuno, who now plays for Foton in the PSL, added.

After spending the last playing years of her UAAP career under Meneses, Macatuno admitted she never thought the veteran coach would ever leave the university he’s served first as a student-athlete and then as coach.

And as Adamson suffered another loss in what has been a disappointing so far, Macatuno said the struggles can be attributed to inexperience.

“Siguro ngayon kasi puro bata yung mga players,” she said. “Sana may mag step up sa kanila. — By Arylle Magtalas
