Men’s coach Domeng Custodio also tapped to handle Lady Falcons

(UPDATED) Adamson, in a statement, confirmed the appointment of Custodio, saying it hopes his “fighter attitude and vast experience will rub off to the Lady Falcons while he serves as interim head coach.”

In replacing resigned coach Sherwin Meneses, Adamson didn’t look too far, tapping men’s volleyball mentor Domeng Custodio to take over the Lady Falcons for the rest of UAAP Season 78.

Meneses, who quit from his position Thursday, will be replaced by long-time Soaring Falcons coach Custodio, a team source told FOX Sports Friday afternoon.

Custodio, also known for being animated on the sidelines and during interviews, has steered the men’s squad to 4 consecutive semifinal finishes, including a bronze medal in Season 74. They are 6-2 this year, right behind league leader Ateneo.

He will now be tasked to handle the struggling Lady Falcons, a team that has won just 3 of its 8 games so far and will face upstart UP on Saturday.

The source added that in the current setup, Custodio will coach the women’s team until the end of the ongoing tournament only.
