With Adamson looking disjointed in their 2nd round match against NU, top scorer Jema Galanza admitted she was part of the problem.
The Lady Falcons were nowhere near contention in a 3-set loss to the Lady Bulldogs last Sunday at the FilOil Flying V Center, with Galanza scoring just 5 points for her team.
“Aminin na natin na wala akong nagawa ngayong laro, ang bigat sa akin kasi parang yung first round ko ang ganda ng laro ko,” she told FOX Sports. “Ano siguro, nawala lang siguro ako sa focus. Or wala talaga sa focus.”
Before facing NU, Adamson was on a 2-game winning run and has appeared to resolve whatever internal issues they faced early in the season.
But the problems looked to be back when they faced the Lady Bulldogs and Galanza doesn’t want to point fingers.
“Siguro lahat naman kami triny namin yung best namin para mailabas yung laro namin. So wala namang may kasalanan. Siguro nagkataon lang na walang laro si ganito, ako rin walang laro. So, yun lang,” she said.
Set to face an energized UP team coming off a morale-boosting beatdown of Ateneo, Galanza knows they have to try to quickly move on.
“Syempre may dagdag pressure kasi maganda din linalaro ng UP,” she said. “Sabi nga ni coach, hindi kami makaka move-on 2-3 days. Pero habang nagmomove-on kami, gagawin namin yung mga kailangan namin trabahuhin.”
Will we see the Jema Galanza of old against the Lady Maroons?
“Babawi talaga ako,” she stressed. “Lalo na’t ang daming nage-expect at malaking ine-expect sa akin, hindi lang sila coach. So magdodouble time pa ako. Then, may gusto pa akong patunayan so lahat talaga gagawin ko para hindi lang ako umangat, pero manalo lang yung team.” — By Arylle Magtalas
