Teamwork missing in loss to FEU, admits Jaja Santiago

“Teamwork.”

That was the only thing that the NU middle blocker Jaja Santiago could possibly point out as the missing link in their 3-set loss to FEU in the UAAP Season 78 women’s volleyball tournament Sunday.

“Yun talaga e. Maraming nagsasabi samin na hindi kami naglalaro as a team e. As individual lang yung laro namin. Yun yung unang-unang kailangan naming punan,” she told the press.

After their coaches decided to let them talk to each other, the girls had time to try and iron things out in the dugout and think of what really happened to their team.

NU has been the only team to beat La Salle this season, but the Lady Bulldogs suffered yet another crushing blow to their Final Four chances with their 2nd straight defeat.

Kailangan namin i-distribute yung 100%. Kailangan yung isang player, 120% para mapunan.”

As for Santiago, she could only hope for her team to be able to fix what they can fix as a team.

“Syempre kailangan simula ngayong araw na to, maayos namin yung problema namin. Kailangan mapag usapan namin kagad yung mga dapat namin gawin.” — By Joyce Palad
