Injured Amy Ahomiro to play through pain in Ateneo-La Salle tussle

Ateneo veteran Amy Ahomiro will play through pain as the Lady Eagles take on La Salle in a crucial UAAP Season 78 women’s volleyball tournament matchup Saturday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Ahomiro suffered a sprain during training Friday night, but will nonetheless suit up as the back-to-back defending champions hope to extend their winning streak to 25 games.

“Na-sprain kagabi. Nung pag spike niya, pag atras ayun. Sprained.

The New Zealand native, who moved to the opposite position this year, has averaged 6.83 points off 4.5 hits, 1.33 blocks and 1 ace per game for Ateneo, who has defeated La Salle 6 consecutive times since the Season 76 finals.
