Now mired in a team that has suffered 52 straight losses in the UAAP women’s volleyball tournament, UE spiker Shaya Adorador shared how she once had the option of choosing UP or UST.
“Galing kaming Palaro nun,” she said.
Adorador was then fresh off helping NCR clinch the Palarong Pambansa championship in Dumaguete, where she teamed up with then-incoming UP coach Jerry Yee and former high school stars Des Cheng, Ana Gopico, Justine Dorog and Isa Molde.
Despite being offered a position to play for the Lady Maroons or the Golden Tigresses, Adorador, who played for UE in UAAP girls volleyball, chose to stay in the school where she first learned to play the sport she loves.
Aside from that, Adorador was also stopped by the fact that she had to serve a 2-year residency, as she will be transferring to another UAAP school.
Now that she’s never won a UAAP seniors match with the Lady Warriors, does Adorador have regrets?
— By Arylle Magtalas
