QPR set to name Ramsey

Ramsey has been in temporary charge since Harry Redknapp???s resignation and guided the R???s to their first away win of the campaign at Sunderland on Tuesday evening.

Redknapp resigned last week due to his need for knee surgery, and Ramsey, who had been working as head of player development, took charge on an interim basis.

He lost his first match at the helm when Southampton scored in injury-time to win 1-0 at Loftus Road last Saturday but then masterminded a much-improved away showing on Tuesday night, as the Londoners won 2-0 at the Stadium of Light to climb out of the relegation zone.

And Ramsey has been open about expressing his interest in taking charge on a more permanent basis.

He said after the game on Tuesday: “If the job’s available and I???m the right man for the job, then I???ll do it.

“If not, I???ll stay as an employee – head of player development – for the club and continue to support the cause.”
