Reports: Anderson Silva fails second test

MMA fans and fighters were devastated to learn the UFC star had failed a test ahead of his victory over Nick Diaz, but the Brazilian insisted there had been a mistake.
In a statement he released last week, Silva said: "I've been competing in this sport for a very long time. This is my 19th fight in the UFC. I have been thoroughly tested many times and have never had a positive test. I have not taken any performance enhancing drugs. My stance on drugs is and will always be the same. I'm an advocate for a clean sport."

Silva's fight against Diaz was a triumphant return from a 13 month absence due to a serious leg break.

Now MMAJunkie is reporting that Silva failed another test ahead of the fight. Silva initially tested positive for drostanolone metabolites and androstane and then passed the 19 January test (in-competition) for human grown hormone.

Silva is expected to appear before the Nevada State Athletic Commission on 17 February to learn his fate.

The fighter, widely considered one of the greatest in the sport's history, has not yet addressed the news of a second failed test.
