WBC present boxing in China

The WBC, headed by its president Mauricio Sulaiman, concedes to BoxingScene.com there are lots of opportunities in China.

Internationally respected referee Bruce McTavish along with WBC board member Frank Quill of Australia began working to develop boxing in China 13-years-ago.    

The WBC stated that the unprecedented boxing card on Sunday "is the first in a series of meticulously planned events which will culminate in the WBC's 53rd annual Convention to be held in November in Kunming China." 

The Zovi Boxing Promotions of Liu Gang will present former WBC super flyweight Silvester Lopez from the stable of Gabriel "Bebot" Elorde in the main event in a clash for the super bantamweight Silver title against Qiu Xiao Jun.

Xiong Zhao Zhong will be back in action on Sunday when he fights for the vacant WBC minimumweight International crown against Hiroya Yamamoto from Japan

Veteran female boxer Gretchen Abaniel – also from the Philippines – will clash with Cai Zongju for the WBC International female minimumweight title.
