NBA round-up: Bulls get past Pacers

The Chicago Bulls managed to pull out a 96-95 win over the Indiana Pacers at the United Centre on Monday thanks to Jimmy Butler blocking Indiana's Paul George's game-winning shot attempt just before time expired.

With 1:23 remaining, Butler, with 17 points, gave the Bulls a 96-93 lead with a 15-foot jumper then the Pacers got to within a point with 45 seconds remaining when guard Monta Ellis scored. In its next possession, Chicago failed to score but Indiana failed to take advantage.

For the Bulls, Derrick Rose scored 23 points but injured his left ankle and could not play the complete final quarter. 

In Memphis, the Grizzlies were victorious against the Thunder winning 122-114 with Mario Chalmers getting 29 points off the bench.

In the fourth quarter, Chalmers did much of his work scoring 16 points and knocking down two 3-pointers. For the Thunder, Russell Westbrook had a double-double with 40 points and 14 assists. Oklahoma were without Kevin Durant for the third straight game.

In San Antonio, the Spurs beat the Trail Blazers 93-80 for their fifth straight win with Kawhi Leonard scoring 19 points and key shots from Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker.

Ginobili scored 17 points for the Spurs while Boris Diaw and Danny Green got 12 and Parker and Tim Duncan scored ten points each.

In Houston, the Celtics got past the Rockets 111-95 with Avery Bradley scoring 21 points off the bench.

Isaiah Thomas got 23 points and six assists for Boston as they turned around a 15 point deficit with a 15-0 blitz late in the second quarter with eight points coming from Bradley. Boston closed the third quarter with a 15-0 run to lead 87-68 entering the fourth.

In Phoenix, the Suns downed the Lakers 120-101 with Brandon Knight getting a career first triple-double with 30 points, 10 rebounds and a career-high 15 assists.

In the first three-quarters, Eric Bledsoe scored 21 points while Jordan Clarkson had 20 points for Los Angeles, who rested Kobe Bryant for the game.

In Philadelphia, the Mavericks beat the 76ers 92-86 with Dirk Nowitzki scoring 21 points, seven of those coming in the final 3:23.

In the first half, Chandler Parsons added 20 points for Dallas. Deron Williams contributed 12 points and six assists.
