Gerrard: I’d love to boss Reds

Gerrard will bid an emotional farewell to Merseyside at the end of the season after agreeing to move to LA Galaxy in the US.

The Reds skipper, who will turn 35 in May, is already thinking about his next move after hanging up his boots, and the top job at Anfield would fulfil a lifelong ambition.

“It has always been a dream of mine (managing Liverpool),” Gerrard told ITV.

“First and foremost you have to be good enough.

“It is not just about saying you want to be it, you have to go out and prove yourself.

“It is a long way away, I am just focused on playing for now.”

Liverpool???s form has improved dramatically since their defeat at Crystal Palace in late Novemember, with just two defeats in their last 22 in all competitions.

Daniel Sturridge???s return has provided a further boost, and Gerrard admits it is good to have him back fit.

???We have missed Daniel massively. He???s a top player and a natural finisher,??? Gerrard added.

???He???s got pace and is always a threat.

???We just need him out on the pitch.

???Especially without Luis Suarez, losing him had a big impact on us, and the start we had to the season.???
