Bowe cuts ties with the Chiefs

The 30-year-old was released by Kansas, the only team he has played for in the NFL, and leaves as the second-leading pass-catcher in the Chiefs??? history.

“It’s been a pleasure working with Dwayne the past two seasons,” Chiefs coach Andy Reid told ESPN.

“He showed up every day with a great attitude and did everything we asked of him. He was a productive player for a number of years here, and I have a lot of respect for what he was able to accomplish.”

Jeremy Maclin???s arrival from the Philadelphia Eagles appeared to signal the departure of Bowe, who has due to cost Kansas $14 million against their salary cap this year.

His statistics have been on the slide in recent years as he has not caught more than 60 passes or had more than 801 yards in any of the past three seasons.

He exits the Arrowhead Stadium with a final tally of 532 receptions for 7,155 yards and 44 touchdowns.
