Gortat was caught flopping during the Wizards' 88-84 win over the Utah Jazz on Wednesday.
The incident occurred in the fourth quarter when Gortat exaggerated a small push from Jazz forward Rodney Hood when both players were trying to get a rebound.
After the push, Gortat stumbled into the stanchion and Hood was called for a foul.
According to the NBA anti-flopping rules, a player will receive a formal warning for his first flopping offense. He will then be fined $5,000 for a second offense and $10,000 for a third.
