‘Lethal Lucien’ joins Matchroom

‘Lethal’ Lucien enjoyed a succcessful amateur career, winning a senior ABA Elite 54kg title in 2013 before losing in the 56kg final last year.

Reid, who is trained by Peter Sims in Essex, will start life in the professional ranks as a super bantamweight and promoter Eddie Hearn is expecting big things from the 21-year-old West Ham ABC product.

“Lucien is a great addition to the Matchroom Boxing team,” said Hearn.

“He is a really exciting talent and very popular in London, I am sure he will be a big draw on our shows and what a great bill to make your debut on.”

Reid is the latest addition to a huge card at the North Greenwich venue, which also features world title fights for Kevin Mitchell and Lee Selby.

Mitchell challenges Jorge Linares for the WBC lightweight title, Selby faces IBF featherweight king Evgeny Gradovich, and there is also an outing for Olympic heavyweight gold medallist Anthony Joshua, who meets former heavyweight world title challenger Kevin ???Kingpin??? Johnson.
