With many players only completing their second rounds early on Saturday, it was a long day for the leaders who finished their penultimate rounds with darkness taking over at the Wildfire Golf Club.
Kim began her round one shot back of 36-hole leader Kim Kaufman, but a round that included seven birdies and just a lone bogey saw the 19-year-old hit the front on 16-under.
After a slightly disappointing second round of 71, Stacey Lewis made sure she will be in the running on Sunday, with the American's 67 seeing her climb to 14-under and second place.
Kaufman and Alison Lee are a further shot back, with Lee having produced a magnificent course-record 9-under 63 to steam into contention. Kaufman's round of 70 saw her relinquish her lead, but remain in the mix.
World number one Lydia Ko is next best on 12-under where she is joined by Ha Na Jang and Mi Hyang Lee.
