Gustafsson to face Teixeira in Berlin

There had been much speculation about Gustafsson facing Teixeira before White confirmed the bout during an interview with MMA Crazy

"It's true," White said. "It's true. I am confirming that it is true."

During his interview with MMA Fighting on Monday, Gustafsson did not confirm whether the fight was a done deal, but he did express interest in facing Teixeira.

"Glover is a great opponent, he's a tough fighter," he said. "I think he'd be an exciting fight. We're both great fighters. We're both strikers, and I think he'd be a great fight to see."

However, Gustafsson will have to be wary of the fact that Teixeira had a 20-fight wining streak until he was beaten by light heavyweight champion Jon Jones last April.

Following that fight, Teixeira lost his next bout against Phil Davis at UFC 179 on October 25.

Gustafsson meanwhile is also coming into the bout on the back a few losses, having been beaten by Jones in a highly controversial match in September 2013.

In his most recent fight, the Swede was knocked out in the first round by Anthony "Rumble" Johnson, who will now challenge Jones at UFC 187 in May.
