Ramsey rues missed chances

Top-scorer Charlie Austin missed a first half penalty and Richard Dunne later had a goal disallowed as Rangers pushed for a win to aid them in the fight for Premier League survival.

A lack of cutting edge ultimately cost them and Ramsey admitted that it has been a problem throughout the season.

???We???ve had that most of the season to be honest with you,??? he said. ???We???ve relied too much on Charlie, I think and obviously he has had a huge impact on where we are and the amount of points that we???ve accumulated.

???Unfortunately for us, today we couldn???t convert some of the chances that we made. I thought it was a good, solid performance apart from at the end when we lost our discipline as we were pushing forward.

???All in all, I???m very frustrated that we didn???t get what we would perceive that we deserve.???

While accepting that it was a key moment in the game, Ramsey refused to put the result solely down to Austin???s penalty miss and pointed to a number of other good opportunities spurned by QPR during the match.

???Yeah but we had some good chances apart from that as well,??? he added. ???We had the one that flashed across the box that nobody stepped in to tap it in and a few of the other players had good chances.

???So (missing) a penalty is always a blow but goalscorers have to take that on the chin because most of the time they???re providing the ammunition for you to go forward.???

However, Ramsey???s biggest source of frustration was Dunne???s disallowed goal. The referee chalked it off citing a foul on goalkeeper Adrian in the build-up but Ramsey was unconvinced of any wrongdoing by his players.

???That was probably the most frustrating because if you actually look at the challenge, he???s gone up with no malice, he hasn???t used his arms in any illegal fashion and unfortunately for West Ham the keeper has dropped the ball,??? he explained.

???But unfortunately for us the referee doesn???t give the goal when Richard was very brave in the way that he attacked the ball. It looked like he was the one that was getting his head kicked off as well.

???Sometimes referees really need to take into account to consequences of their actions when we’re fighting at the bottom and trying to get three points to keep us up.???
