The Belgian, who netted his 11th goal of the season in the 3-0 win over Manchester United on Sunday, seemed intent on a move away from Merseyside earlier in the season in a bid to try his luck in the Champions League. Despite being happy in England, Mirallas was quoted as saying he wanted a “new challenge”.
Last week Tottenham were linked with a move for the 27-year-old, who will enter the final 12 months of his contract this summer, but Mirallas has hinted he could be prepared to stay with Everton.
“There was a lot of paper talk about my future last week but I am very happy here and I see next season the same shirt I think,” he told the Liverpool Echo.
Everton do have an option to extend Mirallas??? contract by an extra year and after his most impressive goals tally since his arrival from??Olympiakos in 2012 they might well activate that clause in July.
Speaking about the weekend’s win – Everton’s fifth win in six Premier League matches – Mirallas added: “I think it was our best performance of the season.
“For me, it’s good to score in both of the last two games but the most important thing for me is that the team has won the two games.
“I was very happy because my family is here my baby is here.”
