00:06 What a riveting session that was! Ferrari will be bitterly disappointed to miss out on the front row entirely, and by such a margin. But who knows what tomorrow may bring?

00:00 And that’s it! For the first time in his career, Valtteri Bottas is on pole! The Finn was magnificent and ultimately prevailed over Hamilton by only 0.023 seconds! Disappointing day for Ferrari, Vettel almost 0.5 seconds down in P3, and Raikkonen P5. Decent effort for Ricciardo though, the Aussie is P4.

23:58 They’re out for their final runs now…

23:56 Hamilton quickest by only half a tenth from Bottas, but Vettel almost half a second down in P3. Have Mercedes been hiding their true potential?

23:53 It’s Bottas who sets the first time again, a 1.28.844. Is today his day?

23:48 This is where the magic happens, it’s Q3!

23:46 Six different teams will contest Q3, including both Renaults, which is a solid result for the French outfit.

23:41 That’s it for Q2! We

23:39 Final moments of Q2…

23:36 Fernando Alonso, who is currently P14, is out of his McLaren and heading down the pit lane. End of day for the Spaniard then.

23:34 Vettel and Raikkonen slot in in P3 and P4. The top 3 only separated by 0.061 seconds, and should all be safely through to Q3.

23:30 All the drivers have headed out on supersofts, and Bottas is first to set a time, 1.29.555, but Hamilton is marginally faster with a 1.29.535.

23:28 Just a recap of the order in Q1…

23:18 Checkered flag, end of Q1! A late flurry of activity sees some big names out! Alonso just about managed to sneak into Q2, and a good effort by Wehrlein sees him advance too.

23:13 Five minutes to go now, with a few unexpected names in danger…

23:10 Verstappen has gone fastest, followed by Bottas, only to be pipped by Hamilton. Meanwhile Vettel and Raikkonen have gone P3 and P6 for Ferrari.

23:05 Wehrlein sets the initial pace on a 1.33.5, with Ericsson four tenths slower. Most of the cars are out on supersofts, but both Ferrari’s and both Mercedes’ are out on softs.

23:00 Green light, Q1 is underway! The Sauber pair of Pascal Wehrlein and Marcus Ericsson are first out.

23:45 Max Verstappen set the pace for Red Bull in FP3, but whether the Austrian outfit will have ultimate pace to start on the front row is questionable. Fortunately, everything will be revealed in about 15 minutes!
