NHL Wrap: Philadelphia crush Penguins

The Philadelphia Flyers were too good for the Pittsburgh Penguins in the NHL when thumping them 4-0 on Wednesday night.

The goals were scored in the second and third periods by Sean Couturier, Wayne Simmonds, Claude Giroux and Dale Weise. Simmonds reached a personal career milestone by scoring for the 200th time.

The Colorado Avalanche did enough to beat the Detroit Red Wings 3-1 while the Anaheim Ducks were 2-1 winners over the St Louis Blues.

The Boston Bruins ended the 11 game winning streak of the Calgary Flames defeating them 5-2 as Brad Marchand nailed his 36th goal of the season.
