Alex Galchenyuk scored in overtime for the second straight night for the Canadiens as they beat the Columbus Blue Jackets 1-0 on Tuesday night.

Carey Price made 26 saves for his third shutout this season.

Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 29 shots for Columbus.

Galchenyuk scored with a slap shot into the roof of the net after 3:53 of overtime.

Marcus Johansson hit two goals as Washington beat New York 4-1.

Brett Connolly and Nicklas Backstrom also scored for the Capitals.

Braden Holtby made 29 saves.

Brady Skjei scored for the Rangers, for whom Henrik Lundqvist made 34 saves.

Minnesota snuck past Winnipeg 6-5 thanks to Jason Zucker’s goal with 2:10 left in the third period.

Erik Haula, Mikael Granlund, Tyler Graovac, Ryan White and Marco Scandella got the other goals for the Wild.

Joel Armia, Mark Scheifele, Mathieu Perreault, rookie Patrik Laine – with his 31st goal of the season – and Adam Lowry netted for the Jets.

Antoine Roussel scored the decider as Dallas hit three goals in the third period to secure a 3-2 win over Pittsburgh.

Pittsburgh had led 2-0 thanks to strikes from Evgeni Malkin and Jake Guentzel.

Brett Ritchie scored the Stars’ first goal and then Jason Spezza tied the game before Roussel’s winning goal.

Antti Niemi made 18 stops for Dallas.

The loss of Colin Miller for a bone-crunching hit on Arizona’s Alexander Burmistrov didn’t affect the Bruins as they defeated the Coyotes 4-1.

Miller was handed a five-minute major and game misconduct after knocking out Burmistrov in the second period. The Coyotes center was motionless on the ice for several minutes but gave a thumbs-up as he was taken away to hospital for checks.

Miller, Riley Nash, David Backes and Brad Marchand scored for Boston while Peter Holland grabbed Arizona’s goal.

Tuukka Rask made 22 saves for the Bruins.

Milan Lucic and Mark Letestu scored as Edmonton beat St. Louis 2-1.

Tender Cam Talbot made 25 stops for the Oilers.

Paul Stastny scored for St. Louis, who lost a fourth straight after a six-game winning streak.

Steve Mason made 33 stops for Philadelphia as they defeated Colorado 4-0.

Wayne Simmonds scored two first-period goals, before Jakub Voracek and Jordan Weal added two more without reply as the Flyers won for just the third time in 10.

Colorado lost their 18th game in the last 22.

Aleksander Barkov and Jonathan Huberdeau hit the net in the shootout as Florida recorded a 3-2 win over Carolina.


Roberto Luongo (23 saves in regulation) stopped all three Carolina skaters in the shootout after making 23 saves.

TJ Brodie grabbed the winner for Calgary as they defeated Los Angeles in overtime.

Tanner Pearson had put the Kings n front in the first period before Michael Ferland tied things up after 9.44 of the second period.

Ben Bishop made 28 saves for the Kings after arriving on a trade from Tampa Bay.

The Vancouver Canucks came from two goals down in the first period to take the game to overtime against the Detroit Red Wings before losing 2-3 when Justin Abdelkader nailed the winning overtime goal for Detroit.

The San Jose Sharks game from a goal down to defeat the Toronto Maple Leafs 3-1 as Brenden Dillon, Tomas Hertl and Joe Pavelski all scored for the Sharks.
