Harden inspires Rockets triumph

A win for Golden State would have sent the Warriors to the Finals for the first time since 1975 but the Rockets proved too strong in Game 4 as they reduced the deficit to 3-1 in the best-of-seven series.

Harden contributed a massive career-high 45 points, five assists and nine total rebounds as the Rockets led from start to finish to avoid elimination in the Western Conference finals.

Klay Thompson scored 24 points and Stephen Curry added 23 for Golden State but the Warriors could not put the Rockets away and will try again at home in Game 5 on Wednesday night.
