NHL Wrap: Zibanejad seals Rangers shoot-out win

Mika Zibanejad converted the shoot-out winner for the in-form New York Rangers, as they secured a 2-1 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Henrik Lundqvist made 32 saves and JT Miller netted the equaliser for the Rangers, who move into third place in the Metropolitan Division. Connor Brown was on the scoresheet for Toronto.

The New York Islanders were comfortable 3-0 winners against the Montreal Canadiens.

Rookie Anthony Beauvillier was on the mark for the Islanders, while Thomas Greiss finished with a tally of 24 saves.

Sean Monahan fired home his 100th NHL goal to help the Calgary Flames to a 3-2 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Dougie Hamilton and Mikael Backlund were also on the mark for the Flames. Vladislav Namestnikov and Nikita Kucherov were the Lightning’s scorers.

Filip Forsberg scored a second successive hat-trick as the Nashville Predators beat the Colorado Avalanche 4-2.

Forsberg completed his treble with an empty-net goal inside the final 40 seconds.

Patrick Kane netted his third career hat-trick, as the resurgent Chicago Blackhawks triumphed 6-3 over the Arizona Coyotes.

It was an eighth win in nine for the Blackhawks, as Kane took his tally for the season to 23.

Finally, Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak would help the Boston Bruins to a 4-1 drumming of the Los Angeles Kings, scoring a goal each.
