Toulon centre Mathieu Bastareaud will miss Saturday's Six Nations clash against Ireland in Dublin due to concussion.
Bastareaud sustained a head knock during Toulon's Top 14 clash with Lyon on Saturday.
"Following a concussion Mathieu Bastareaud underwent a neurological test which does not allow him to be available for Ireland v France," the French Rugby Federation tweeted.
France heasd coach Guy Novès recalled Bastareaud to les Bleus' squad for the first time in January. This after being in the international wilderness since the 2015 Rugby World Cup in England, when Philippe Saint-Andrè was France's coach.
But the 28-year-old wasn't used in France's defeat to England at Twickenham or their victory over Scotland in Paris.
