Kane helps Spurs beat Sydney

Mauricio Pochettino???s side beat Malaysia All-Stars on Wednesday thanks to two goals from Kane, before travelling to Australia for the final match of their mini tour against the A-League???s second-placed team.

Spurs fielded a strong line-up including Hugo Lloris, Erik Lamela, Andros Townsend and Kane, and their class shone through in the early exchanges.

Townsend had the first chance of the game for the visitors, firing a shot over the bar, before Sydney goalkeeper Ivan Necevski was forced into two sharp saves in quick succession. He parried Townsend???s initial shot away, before regrouping to hold Kane???s follow-up effort.

Lamela attempted an audacious rabona shortly before the 30-minute mark – perhaps a reminder that the match was simply a friendly – ??but he watched as his effort flew wide of the target.

Against the run of play, Sydney had a brilliant chance to open the scoring after a terrible error from Spurs defender DeAndre Yedlin. He impressed throughout the match, but had one moment of embarrassment when his pass across the face of Lloris??? goal found Sydney captain Alex Brosque.

He rounded the keeper before firing a shot towards goal, but Jan Vertonghen managed to scramble back to clear off the line and save his new team-mate.

Just minutes later, and on the stroke of half-time, Spurs did manage to take the lead. Lamela threaded a ball through to Kane, who fired across the body of Necevski and into the bottom corner of the net.

Kane has enjoyed a brilliant season, and he continued in his rich vein of form on Saturday afternoon. It was clear who the 70,000 crowd had turned out to see, and he rewarded them with a scintillating display, leading the Spurs line.

In the second half, Tottenham???s dominance became more and more apparent. In the early stages, Sydney had chances to level the scores ??? particularly when Bernie Ibini-Isei glanced a header wide of the post ??? but Spurs grew into the half and proved their dominance.

There were no further goals, but Tottenham???s main aim was achieved. They return to England unscathed with two wins in their two games, and Kane has surely earned the north Londoners some new fans on the other side of the world.??
