Armstrong loses key lawsuit

Disgraced cyclist Lance Armstrong has lost his bid to block a US $100million lawsuit by the US government.

Armstrong won his seven Tour de France titles while part of the US Postal Service Team, which is partly funded by American taxes. 

The US Postal Service sponsored Tailwind Sports Corporation to the tune of US $32million, of which Armstrong recieved US $13million Therefore, it is alleged that Armstrong defrauded the government. 

However, Armstrong's lawyers believe that US Postal enjoyed media exposure from the seven wins worth at least US $160million. 

The Texan had his seven titles stripped after he he admitted to taking performance enhancing drugs in 2013.
