The New York Rangers defeated Metropolitan Division rivals, the Columbus Blue Jackets, 3-2 to extend their winning streak to six games in Monday’s NHL action.
The winning goal was scored with six minutes and 32 seconds left on the clock by Jimmy Vesey to move New York level with Columbus and the Pittsburgh Penguins on points in the Eastern Conference.

The only other game played on Monday, the Arizona Coyotes thumped the Calgary Flames 5-0 cancelling out Calgary's chances of getting into the Western Conference's wild-card spots.
The Flames' goals were scored by a Christian Dvorak brace in the second and third period with the others coming from Martin Hanzal, Jordan Martinook and Ryan White in Arizona dominating victory.
