NHL Wrap: Islanders beat Toronto in overtime

Brock Nelson hit his second goal of the game after 2:42 of overtime to help the Islanders to a 6-5 win over Toronto.

Trailing 4-5, the Islanders pulled goalie Thomas Greiss to tie it up through Andrew Ladd’s goal just 1:29 from the end.

Josh Bailey, Ryan Strome, and Nikolay Kulemin also scored for the Islanders.

Auston Matthews, Mitchell Marner, Nikita Soshnikov, Zach Hyman and William

Nylander scored for the Maple Leafs.

St Louis Blues’ goaltender Carter Hutton made 26 stops and earned a third shutout of the season as the Blues beat the Flyers 2-0 on Monday.

Hutton had conceded 13 goals in his last three games.

Paul Stastny and Kenny Agostino grabbed the goals to condemn PIttsburgh to a second straight loss.

In Newark, the Devils broke a seven-game losing streak thanks to Pavel Zacha’s power-play strike with 7:27 remaining.

Cory Schneider made 22 saves as the Devils while Adam Henrique scored New Jersey’s other goal – also on a power-play.

Tyler Ennis hit the net for the Sabres, while Robin Lehner made 37 stops.
