Steyn hints at retirement

Stade Français fly-half Morné Steyn is ready to hang up his boots at international level to make way for Patrick Lambie and Handré Pollard.

The Springbok playmaker has run out 66 times for his country since making his international bow in 2009 against the British and Irish Lions.

But it appears the former Bulls star is now poised to retire from Test rugby, as he revealed in an interview with Midi Olympique on Tuesday.

"I'm saying now that I won't play for the Springboks anymore," he explained. "The trips, the time away, all of it has become too much. And what is more back home, Handré Pollard is back from injury. He and Pat Lambie are very talented. It's time for them instead of me."
