The Russian city of Sochi will not host the Bobsleigh and Skeleton World Championships next year following the accusation of state-sponsored doping.
Sochi, the host city of the 2014 Winter Olympics, was also the scene of mass doping amongst Russian athletes.
A recent report suggested that over 1000 Russian athletes have benefitted from a state-sponsored doping system in many competitions over several years.
The International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Foundation revealed that it would not be "prudent" to hold the event in Russia.
Spurring on the decision was perhaps the fact that Latvia became the first nation to state that would boycott the World Championships if held in Russia. British Olympic skeleton champion Lizzy Yarnold also hinted at boycotting the event last month due to concerns about doping.
A new venue for the March event will be announced soon.
