NHL Wrap: Philadelphia Flyers get ninth straight win

The Philadelphia Flyers were 1-0 overtime winners against the Detroit Red Wings to record their ninth successive NHL win in Sunday’s action.

Brayden Schenn scored for the fourth time in two outings, scoring a hat-trick on Saturday, to get his the Flyers the overtime win.

In other games, the Colorado Avalanche beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 3-1 after being crushed 10-1 last time out against the Montreal Canadiens and, while earning an 18th campaign win, the Chicago Blackhawks downed the Dallas Stars 3-1.

The New York Rangers stunned the New Jersey Devils 5-0 for three wins in four days, the Minnesota Wild were 3-1 winners over the St Louis Blues, the Washington Capitals beat the Vancouver Canucks 3-0, the Anaheim Ducks blitzed the Ottawa Senators 5-1 while the Edmonton Oilers got the better of the Winnipeg Jets 3-2.
