Cowboys edge Redskins

The Dallas Cowboys were on point on Thursday night in the NFL as they saw off a determined challenge from the Washington Redskins, winning 31-26.

The Cowboys, who are the NFC East leaders, rattled off their 10th successive win which tightens their grip on receiving a home fixture in the post-season play-offs.

The stars of the show for the Dallas outfit were rookie quarterback Dak Prescott, who had two touchdowns, and Ezekiel Elliott, who ran in two too.

The in-form Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins was unlucky to be on the losing side as he threw 449 yards, passing the 400-yard mark for the second time this season, and had three touchdowns.

Elsewhere on Thursday in the NFL, there were some interesting results.

The Pittsburgh Steelers demolished the Indianapolis Colts 28-7 as Ben Roethlisberger and Antonio Brown combined for three touchdowns.

While the Minnesota Vikings let victory slip from their grasp against the Detroit Lions.

Darius Slay picked off Vikings quarterback Sam Bradford in the final minute and the Lions capitalised with a game-winning field goal.

It was a fantastic evening of action!
