NHL roundup: Canadiens keep on winning

The Montreal Canadiens defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs 2-1 to keep up their impressive start to the NHL season going with their seventh win in a row on Saturday.

The Canadiens are the only side not to be beaten in regulation time so far in the season.

Early in the third period, Shea Weber scored the winning goal to get his side the points.

The Pittsburgh Penguins beat the Philadelphia Pacers 5-4 with Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin scoring twice for their third win in a row.

The Minnesota Wild saw off the Dallas Stars 4-0 while the Colorado Avalanche got past the Arizona Coyotes 3-2 and the New Jersey Devils were 3-1 victors over the Tampa Bay Lightning.

The St Louis Blues downed the Los Angeles Kings 1-0 while the Boston Bruins beat the Detroit Red Wings by the same score and the Buffalo Sabres cruised past the Florida Panthers 3-0.

The Washington Capitals defeated the Vancouver Canucks 5-2 and the San Jose Sharks were comfortable 4-1 winners over the Nashville Predators.
