Oilers douse Flames, Predators sink Blackhawks

Leon Draisaitl bagged a brace as the Edmonton Oilers beat the Calgary Flames 5-3 in the NHL on Friday, while there were also wins for Nashville and Philadelphia.

Draisaitl netted both of his goals in the third period to lay the foundations for the Oilers victory, with Connor McDavid adding two assists to his first-period strike.

The Nashville Predators beat the Chicago Blackhawks 3-2 as they made their powerplays count, scoring all three of their goals when their opponents were short-handed.

The Philadelphia Flyers scored four times in the second period on their way to a 4-2 success over the Los Angeles Kings, with Sean Couturier notching twice.
