Kayser on brink of Clermont return

Clermont could welcome back veteran hooker Benjamin Kayser this weekend for the Top 14 clash against Montpellier.

The 32-year-old, capped 37 times by France, has been out for months with a left bicep injury.

Kayser is now back in training with the side ahead of Sunday's blockbuster fixture against last season's semi-finalists, but whether he is fit enough to play a part this weekend remains in doubt.

Clermont will travel to the Altrad Stadium after a 30-30 draw away to La Rochelle on the Top 14's opening day.

John Ulugia was the starter that day for les Jaunards, with young hooker Yohan Beheregaray offering support from the bench.
