The Lions have been handed a boost ahead of the Super Rugby final against the Hurricanes after Warren Whiteley was named in their touring squad.
Whiteley, who missed their semi-final victory over the Highlanders, joins Sylvian Mahuza on the flight to New Zealand with the rest of the team.
Head coach Johan Ackermann is taking a 25-man squad on the flight to Wellington, with the final taking place on Saturday at Westpac Stadium.
The Hurricanes and Lions have already faced each other this season and it was the 'Canes who came out on top, winning 50-17 in Johannesburg.
