Raptors sign Biyombo

The Raptors did not reveal the terms of the contract, but confirmed that it was a multi-year deal.

Biyombo, who is one of six African-born players in the NBA, averaged 4.8 points 6.4 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks last season. Even though the 22-year-old only played 64 games last season, he was still ranked 17th in the league in terms of blocks per game.

Speaking about Biyombo, Raptors president and general manager Masai Ujiri told reporters that the Congolese big man "brings athleticism and interior length to our team" and added that he is an "exceptional rim protector and his physicality will be a great asset to us defensively".
