The possibility of Franco Mostert getting out of his contract with Top 14 side Lyon looks more unlikely than ever.
Mostert, capped by the Springboks for the first time during the recent series with Ireland, had previously signed a two-year deal to move to France next season.
However speculation after his Test debut suggested that SARU were eager to try keep Mostert in South Africa with the Lions and would attempt to release the 25-year-old from his contract.
Lyon though are unwilling to entertain that proposal, re-iterating to Midi Olympique that they expect Mostert to arrive at the club later this year following the Currie Cup.
“There will be no negotations,” the club said.
“We’re relying on him, this isn’t a financial issue. We expect him to arrive on November 1 and we will be inflexible.”
