Lions finally sign Orie

The Lions have finally secured the signature of Bulls lock Marvin Orie after trying to sign the hot prospect two years ago.

When the Lions previously chased Orie the Bulls managed were able onto hold onto the rookie second-row but now the Lions have finally won him over.

It is probably no coincidence that Orie is leaving Loftus after news of Lood de Jager's move to the Pretoria franchise later in the season.

Bulls High Performance Manager Xander Janse van Rensburg, says that game time was a factor in his decided departure and they wish him well at his new club.

"We had to fight hard in 2014 to try and keep Marvin in Pretoria and he was always honest with us and told us if he feels he does not get enough game time in Pretoria that he may decide to make the move," Janse van Rensburg told Supersport.

"With the signing of Lood de Jager, as well as the form of RG And Jason and some of our other exciting locks in the system at the moment, we wish Marvin well in his future at the Lions and want to thank him for his loyalty and service over the past five years.
