Larkham fires up Brumbies

Brumbies head coach Stephen Larkham admits his team have to bounce back from their loss to the Blues or risk not making the play-offs.

After going down 40-15 in Auckland, fortunately for the Brumbies the Hurricanes did them a favour by beating the Waratahs 24 hours later.

That means the Brumbies stay top in Australia on number of wins and face the Force at home this weekend, as the 'Tahs head to the Blues.

"We have to," said coach Larkham about whether his team will respond in positive fashion after a disappointing performance at Eden Park.

"The good thing about this coming week is that we played on a Friday and we don't play till Saturday. [It is] an eight-day turnaround that gives us a nice weekend off.

"We have a full week's preparation, starting on Monday.

"We are in a battle with the Waratahs for a place in the play-offs and we simply have to finish top of the Australian conference."
