Lebron James and the New Zealand All Blacks feature in two memorable moments from this day in sporting history.
Lebron’s finest hour
NBA star Lebron James has produced plenty of memorable moments on a basketball court, but perhaps none more so than on this day three years ago, in game seven of the 2013 NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs.
When his team needed him most, James delivered, scoring 37 points, adding 12 rebounds and making five three-pointers to lead the Heat to the title.
It was Miami’s third championship, and Lebron’s second.
The All Blacks win the World Cup
On this day in 1987, New Zealand became the first nation to win the Rugby World Cup.
The All Blacks beat France 29-9 in the World Cup final on home soil in Auckland to lift the Webb Ellis trophy.
