Bordeaux Bègles scrum-half Heinrich Adams has announced that he will retire from the game at the end of the season.
Adams, who hails from Worcester in South Africa, signed with UBB in 2010 after being contracted by the Bulls for five years.
Despite playing in the shadow of Springbok Fourie du Preez, Adams made 35 appearances since making his Super Rugby debut in 2009.
During his time with the Pretoria outfit, the Bulls secured three Super Rugby titles – 2007, 2009 and in 2010.
In his first year with UBB the 35-year-old was instrumental for the PRO D2 side and helped them gain promotion to the Top 14.
He has decided to call it quits on a stellar career that spans over 13 years after being out of contract at the end of the season and will take up a coaching role with the Bordeaux youth management staff.
