Sharks sink Predators to book Blues clash

The San Jose Sharks moved into their first Western Conference final in five years after a 5-0 win over the Nashville Predators in their decisive game seven on Thursday night.

Captain Joe Pavelski opened the scoring with his franchise record-tying ninth goal of the postseason and Joel Ward, Logan Couture, Joe Thornton and Patrick Marleau also scored for the Sharks.

Martin Jones made 20 saves for his first shutout of the play-offs and San Jose will now face the St. Louis Blues for a place in the Stanley Cup final.
